Walnut, mahogany, rift-sawn white oak, and plain-sawn oak, in veneer or solid timber. Plywood interiors when the box needs stability. The species and cut are chosen for the room, not from a stock list.
Our studio combines stunning design with technical mastery and artisan craftsmanship. The work is handmade in Minneapolis: American cabinetmaking with European methods, and Italian, French, and British furniture traditions when the room calls for them. The result is an interior or a piece of furniture that displays a soulful and authentic understanding of the client's needs and desires.
Elegance Custom Cabinetry is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, serving homeowners and designers across the Minneapolis and beyond. We design and fabricate custom cabinetry that holds storage, defines circulation, and becomes part of the architecture.

Dmitry Ivanovs came to Minnesota from Latvia with a passion for cabinetmaking and a dream of owning his own shop. In 2008, he founded Elegance Custom Cabinetry, guided by the honesty, hard work, and pride in craftsmanship he learned from his grandparents. Today, his award-winning work reflects that same dedication. He approaches every project as if it were for his own home, taking the time to understand each client's vision and get the details right.
Species, joinery, and the character of the room are decided together.

We actively serve clients throughout the United States, with concentrations in Naples, Boston, and Minneapolis.

Elegance Custom Cabinetry has earned national recognition for its craftsmanship, including a 2022 Craftsman's Challenge award for Diamond of Elegance, pictured at left. Every project receives the same care, from selecting the wood to the final finish.
The Elegance philosophy is passion, discipline, and a commitment to the highest level of quality. Dmitry says chasing profit is not what brought Elegance to where we are. Our continued success is the result of passion and a deep appreciation for the work. We hold ourselves to the standard of doing more than is asked. That standard is handmade cabinetry, not catalog work.
